Julie M. Davis

Julie M. Davis, 56, of Springfield Township, passed away on November 28, 2024 surrounded by her family. Julie was born on May 1, 1968 to Terry and Karen Thompson and graduated from Springfield High School in 1986.

Through a volleyball league, Julie reconnected with high school friend Dan Davis, and they married in 1999. Their family grew to include three children and Julie immersed herself in their school activities. She made countless friends and contacts through her dedicated work with the Springfield Local Schools. She began as a playground monitor and a member of the PTA. Over the years, she was very involved with fundraising, sports and band boosters, and Santa Shop. She coached junior high volleyball and was a preschool teacher's assistant. She was a dedicated volunteer and everyone knew they could count on Julie to get a job done.

Although she spent most of her free time on school activities, Julie still found time to relax with her family by camping, boating, and beach vacations. An avid reader, she loved to take book recommendations from her kids. She also enjoyed listening to all types of music from rock to country.

Julie had a vibrant spirit and a wicked sense of humor. Her three children inherited her knack for witty sarcasm. She was a light in everyone's lives and will be truly missed.

Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Thompson; and grandparents, George and Jean Thompson and Ralph Darrow.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Dan Davis; children, Derek, Katie, and Chelsea; father, Terry Thompson; brother, Steve (Lesa) Thompson; grandmother, Jewell Darrow; parents-in-law, Warren and Deborah Davis; brother-in-law, James (Tina) Davis; sister-in-law, Amber Davis; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 12-3 p.m. followed by a 3:00 p.m. funeral service at Springfield Assembly of God, 1551 Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44312. Per Julie's wishes, please wear bright colors to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Julie may be made to either the Springfield Band Boosters or Springfield Sports Boosters, c/o Springfield Local Schools, 2141 Pickle Rd, Akron, Ohio 44312.
