June 2, 1957 - May 2, 2023
Julie Sweet, 65, passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a brief illness. Julie graduated from Coventry High School in 1975, where she excelled on the field as a majorette and off the field in the classroom. After graduating from The University of Akron, she pursed a career as an educator specializing in speech and hearing and retired from the Portage County Educational Service Center in 2015. She always took the opportunity to share her wisdom about special needs, helping an incredible number of families along the way. Known for her love of baking, and a good mystery, above all, she was a devoted wife, mother and friend. In short, she was beloved.
Julie will be reunited with her parents, Bob and Vivian Negrue, who preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Scott Sweet; sons, Jordan and Devin Sweet; daughter, Allison Sweet; sisters, Vicki Oldham and Kelli Hill; extended family and many friends.
Julie's life will be celebrated on Sunday, May 21st from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Lion's Hall (245 North East Ave., Tallmadge).
