Julio E. (Pizzoferrato) Peets

Julio E. (Pizzoferrato) Peets, 82, of Akron passed away May 12, 2007 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Julio worked for VanDever Olds as a mechanic then Service Manager for many years. He then worked for 20 years at American Motors as a Technical Instructor. He was then promoted to Regional Serivce Manager and transferred to Fairfax VA where he remained until his retirement in 1988 and moved back to Akron. Julio is a member of St. Matthews Church, Charter member of the Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed his amateur radio and could be found under the handle N8SQR. Julio is preceded in death by parents Nicola and Rosa (Polce) Pizzoferrato; sister Frances DiMario; brothers Coste and Leeber Pizzoferrato. He is survived by his loving wife, of 60 years, Joyce; sons Michael (Charlotte) Peets and Joseph Peets; daughter Cathy (Lyle) Jenkins; grandchildren Michael (Monica) Peets, Holly (Jeff) Most, Jennifer Lampert, Amy Peets, Joshua Jenkins and Jamie Jenkins; great grandchildren Mackenzie Jenkins, Malorie Most, Jason Peets, Emerson Lampert, Erin Lampert, Jocelyn Peets and Stephanie Most; and siblings Mary Butch, Rita Pizzoferrato, Oreste Pizzoferrato, Anthony Pizzoferrato and Elaine Ware. Funeral services will be held on Tues at 11 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd Akron. Family and friends may call on Monday at the funeral home from 6 - 9 PM.
