June B. Sherrard went home to be with her Lord on March 31, 2011. June was born in Chloe, WV on September 13, 1929 to the late Homer and Laura Gae Moss. She was a graduate of East High School and Peoples Hospital (Akron General) School of Nursing. She worked at Akron City Health Dept., and retired after 35 years. She spent her winters at her home in Tarpon Springs, FL until she became ill. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Brett Bower, Rev. Floyd Brown, and Noble Sherrard; niece, Joyce McCullough; and step-children, Sue and Richard. She and Noble attended the Arlington Memorial Baptist Church. June had a compassionate heart and gentle spirit. She is survived by her loving sister, Aggie (Robert, deceased) Gardner; nephews, Michael (Karon) Gardner and Bobby Bower; loving brother, Al (Viola) Moss; nieces, Judy (Dwight) Wasson both of Wooster, OH and Linda (nee Bower; great-nephew, Andrew; great-nieces, Nicole, Sarah, Lauren and Erin; step-children, Craig and Dawn; grandsons, Tyler and Matthew; dearest and best friend, Edie Lou Butler; and a host of friends. A visitation will be held Monday, April 4, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow with Pastor Matthew McDaniel officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arlington Memorial Baptist Church.
