June Marie Colly, age 78, passed away peacefully in Melissa, Texas, on June 19, 2021. She was born on March 27, 1943 in Akron, Ohio to the late Robert Harold and Regina Marie (nee Law) Helms.
Other than her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Angue Colly Sr., whom she married on January 27, 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland; and her oldest child, Samuel Angue Colly Jr.
June is survived by her children, Joseph and his wife, Karen of Richmond, VA, Mary and husband, Joven of McKinney, TX, and Tina of Melissa, TX; and her sister, Patricia Kathleen "Kathy" and her husband Michael "Mike" Black.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Landon "Geno", Halle, Emily, Taylor, Kendall, Jackson, Joshua and Matthew.
Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 73 North Tallmadge Road, Tallmadge, where Father Michael A. Matusz will celebrate June's life.
Before the Mass, family and friends may gather at the funeral home for morning prayers at 9:30 AM until we process to church for Mass.
Private family burial will take place afterwards at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron.
The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Our Lady of Victory's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ourladyofvictorychurchtallmadge/. Those who are unvaccinated or at risk are asked to please consider continuing to wear a face covering while in Church.
