June Delores Vardeman (92), went to be with the Lord May 3, 2018 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. She was born in Wellsville, OH on October 31, 1925 to Strossie "Jack" & Mary (Deeley) Cooper and lived most of her life in the Akron area. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Barberton. She started working at Woolworths in East Liverpool, OH as a teenager and was later employed by the Adeline Dress Shop, Quaker Oats & Yeagers Department Store.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Edward "Eddie" Vardeman & daughter Nancy Rundle and is survived by son William (Joyce) Vardeman, daughter Anna (Larry) Hardesty, sisters Sue (Harry) Morgan, Marlene Griffith, grandchildren David & Cindy Vardeman & Emily Rundle and great-grandchildren Matthew & Jessica Vardeman as well as several nieces & nephews. She is also survived by her extended family Perry, Debbie & Annie Chipps; Melissa, Ben, Becca & Kara Lee; Heather & Brian Brandenburg & Pat Thomas.
Calling hours are scheduled at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 5-8 pm. Family and friends may also visit on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 12 pm until time of funeral service at 1 pm, also at the funeral home. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park in Akron.
