June Hicks

June Hicks, 85, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 2nd, 2024. She is now rejoicing in heaven. She was born in Rome, Georgia to David and Norma Nichols. She moved to Ohio as a young girl and graduated from Akron South High School in 1957. She met Jerry, the love of her life shortly after. June and Jerry had many adventures together and loved being together. June loved spending time with her family. She loved holidays, working in her yard, reading books, cooking, and enjoying watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. June attended the Chapel in Green. 

She will be greatly missed by her children Jerry (Susan) Hicks and Terri (Michael) Castelli; her grandchildren Amy (Steve) Hicks, Alison (Wayne) Evans, Melissa (Kiyo) Ichikawa, Elise (Chad) Breznak, and Joseph (Megan) Castelli; great grandchildren Kairi, Jacob, Jordan, and Aria. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Norma Gajdos, and dear friends Sally Coburn and Gloria Darst. 

Family will hold a private service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
