June R. Mclain

June R. (Kiley - Schellenberger) McLain, age 85, passed away on February 3, 2013 with family by her side, after a year long illness. She was born on June 11, 1927 in Akron, OH to the late William P. and Marie Kiley, the 8th of 13 children. June is a gentle and generous spirit, loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Preceded in death by her parents; first husband of 24 years, Bernard C. Schellenberger; second husband of 36 years, William E. McLain, Jr.; brothers, Robert George (infant) and Charles; sisters, Anna Rita (infant), Bertha Judson, Ruth Selesky, Patricia Thacker, Betty Davis, Lillian Kiley, Henrietta Walters and Janet Millward; great granddaughter, Brooke McCabe.

Survived by children, Michael W. Schellenberger, Dennis J. (Jill) Schellenberger and June Marie (Jack) Thorne; grandchildren, Kathleen Schellenberger, Michael (Erin) Schellenberger, Holly (John) Lehnen, Heather (Rocky) Pavkov, Elizabeth Schellenberger, Paul Thorne, Thomas (Angie) Thorne and Ronald (Doreen) Thorne; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Alexander, Monte, William, Lydia, Alexandria, Ava, Vincent, Arwen, Rory, Riley, Chase Tyler and Layne L. Thorne; great-great grandson, Mason; sisters, Doris Talbot and Grace Yates; many McLain family members and relatives.

Friends may call 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Visitation of Mary Parish (Annunciation Church), 55 Broad St, Akron, OH 44305. Final resting place will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution in June's honor may be made to Summa Health Systems, Acute Palliative Care Unit, 525 E. Market St, Akron, OH 44309.
