June Rose (Shepard) Williams (nee: Hodge)
ATWATER, OHIO - June Rose Williams, 88, passed away peacefully September 23, 2013 surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born in Maumee, Ohio on June 5, 1925 to the late Edgar and Marie (Sorge) Hodge. June worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber until 1948 when she left to raise her children.
She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Densel C. Williams (formerly of Lobelia, West Virginia); children, Shareen (Randy) Parshall, Janelle (Robert) Arnold, and Scott (Tracey) Shepard; stepchildren, Karen (John) Wagner, Rodney Williams, Allen Williams, Steve (Mary) Williams, and Michael (Laura) Williams; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, she was a member of Akron Bible Church on Brown Street, the Mogadore Moose, and was a Lady Shriner. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her amazing wit and sense of humor. She was incredibly kind, compassionate, fun-loving and adored by everyone who knew her.
Special thanks to Visiting Physicians and Grace Hospice for helping us to take care of her at home. Also special thanks to our own special nurses who helped us guide her through to the other side.
Family and friends may call on Sunday September 29 from 4-6 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark O'Donnell officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
