Karen A. Zimmerman-Weidaw
Karen A. Zimmerman-Weidaw, 48, passed away August 16, 2008 after a long brave fight with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born November 10, 1959 in Cuyahoga Falls and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1977. Karen had many successful careers, but most enjoyed caring for small children in her home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley; father, Joseph; brother, Ric, and mother-in-law, Ruth Weidaw. Karen was married to Jim Weidaw for 8 wonderful years. She rescued him from eternal bachelorhood and taught him how to have fun, how to love, and enjoy life to the fullest. She also leaves behind her sisters, Linda (Tom) Jones of Seattle and Joan of Cuyahoga Falls; brother, Gary (Diane) Zimmerman of Green; sister-in-law, Patti Zimmerman; and stepmother, Mary Lou of Green. Karen had many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends. She was especially proud of all her nieces and nephews, who knew her as Aunt Kay Kay. She was known for always bragging of their accomplishments. Karen also always had a smile when talking about the kids who stayed with her, Bailey, Jarrod, Alana, Caleb, and Allison. Karen enjoyed trips to the beach, planning get togethers with family and friends, playing trivia games, singing, and telling stories. She loved to watch old movies, G.H., and reruns of old shows. She loved planting gardens, decorating her home, and making craft gifts for her loved ones. She lived life to the fullest right until the end. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. followed by an 8 p.m. memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Karen's family.
