Karen Ann Gould, 67, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed away October 18, 2008 at her residence. She was born September 21, 1941 in Batavia, New York. Karen's passion was her husband and family. She enjoyed helping others. Her hobbies included knitting and sewing. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert J. Morris. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Arthur E. Gould, Jr.; mother, Louise Mae Ferris; daughter, Laura L. (Dan) Harding; sons, Arthur E. Gould III and R. Scott (Tammy) Gould; grandchildren, Ashley, Jason, Crystal, Heather, Amber and Steven; great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Alyssa; and brother, Robert J. Ferris, Jr. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron and on Friday from 10 - 11 a.m. at Community Baptist Temple, 1398 Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday with Pastor Mark O'Donnell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
