Karen D. Miller

November 2, 1949 — August 27, 2016

Karen Doddy Miller, 66, of North Canton passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 after a brave but short battle with cancer. Karen was born in Syracuse, New York on November 2, 1949 to the late Lawrence Francis and Keitha Lucy Doddy. She was married for 42 years to Tony Miller, who passed away last April.
Karen is survived by her son Russ Miller (Kim Palmer) and daughter Kerry (Bobby) Bell; granddaughters Haylee, Gracie, Trinity Bell and Simone Miller; brothers Terry Doddy and Kevin Doddy; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Karen loved sweet wine, Irish music and was a formidable Scrabble opponent. She was an insightful and passionate sports fan who could quote stats as well as critique front office moves.
Karen was generous and always involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was fiercely devoted to family and friends and could offer sanctuary, a shoulder or a shot - whatever was needed to lift the mood and set the path right. Her home was always welcoming, a gathering place for lavish holidays or simple weekend barbeques.
Those who loved Karen, and continue to miss Tony, know that only their enduring memory can heal the grief of this painful loss.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you to donate to American Cancer Society and that the Indians win the World Series. Karen will be cremated and the family will receive friends on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. The family is also planning a remembrance Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Fair Haven, NY.
