Karen Sue Nixon

Karen Sue Nixon, 63, of Akron, passed away on December 14, 2023. She was born on May 18, 1960 to the late Glen and Blondena {Bennett} Smith.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Smith.

Karen is survived by her loving son, Guy Nixon, Jr. (Ashleigh); grandchildren Alyssa, Chase, Kelsea and Kinsley; brother, Clyde (Judy) Smith; sister Yvonne (Keith) Musgrave; sister-in-law Sandy Smith; many nieces and nephews and their families.

Those of us that had the luxury of knowing Karen acknowledge her loss with immense sadness. Her legacy of love and strength will not be forgotten. Karen's life was not easy, and came with its difficulties in all aspects. Her son was born premature, and Karen gave her all to give him a beautiful life. She was incredibly self-reliant, spending a decade caring for her parents and LOVING others first. Karen never missed an important milestone in her loved ones' lives. Those she loved never questioned how much she cared, and saw her as a role model; they learned from her what true sacrifice really means. There was never a time she didn't show up for those who needed her most, and she will always be loved and dearly missed by all.
