Proceeded in death by husband Darrell Peoples and daughter Wanakie Peoples, Karen is survived by her three sons Shawanakie Peoples, Rashawn Peoples, Casual Woods; and their wives; 13 grandchildren; four siblings.
A devoted, loving and supportive mother, grandmother & friend. A passionate soul who never waned in support for those she loved. Karen's fierce love and dedication to her family was beyond measure. She was a woman of stubbornness and immense strength, and it was that strength that kept her always moving forward even in the most difficult of times.
Karen's legacy was caring for less fortunate wanderers that her sons brought home over the years. She mothered every soul with an attentive nurturing love. With a hot plate and an open ear she helped guide lost souls to find hope. She was affectionately know to all as Mamma and for many who came from broken homes, Mamma was the hug needed at the right moment. She cared most deeply for her children and grandchildren and by example taught us how to be strong minded independent leaders. Her final months were spent doing the things she loved exactly the way she wanted them done and with no regrets. She will be remembered always for the attention she gave to everyone close to her. Her laughter that filled every room, and the wisdom she quietly bestowed to the fortunate few who listened. She made a lasting impression on us all and so will be missed but never Forgotten.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal services.
