Karen Jean (nee Bever) Richter, age 67 of Akron, Ohio, died on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at her home.
She was born on March 10, 1950 in Ravenswood, WV, the daughter of the late John Robert and Laila Jean (nee Longstreth) Bever.
Karen was a 1968 graduate of Akron East High School and also a graduate of the University of Akron attaining a bachelors degree. Following her college education, she went on to Madrid, Spain and attended the University of Madrid. Karen was retired from Steelcase in Michigan as a benefit specialist in human resources.
She loved flower gardening and decorating. Her passion was reading, however, her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved granddaughters.
Survivors include her husband, David Joe Richter; her son, Kevin Anthony (Samantha) Lehna of San Jose, CA; her two grandchildren, Kelly and Ashley Lehna; her siblings, Robert (Barbara) Bever, Ronald (Mary) Bever, Sandra (Samuel) Smith, Sherry (Michael) Burley, and Debra Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Maranatha Bible Church, 1424 Killian Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM, where Pastor Bob Weiss will celebrate Karen's life.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
