Karen L. Selman

Karen L. Selman,, 66, passed away on July 8, 2018. She was born in Akron on June 4, 1952 to the late Charles "Whitey" Selman and Joyce Elaine Williams. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tara D. Kennell; brother, Howard L. Frick III; son-in-law, Joseph A. Miller; and the love of her life, Alfred Cootz. Karen will be dearly missed by her brothers, Karl Selman, John (Debbie) Selman, Steve. W. Frick; sister, Joyce (Byron) Cremeans; children, Stephanie Miller (David Butz) of New Franklin, Kelly Selman (John Nease) of Ellet, Shannon Kennell (Julie Gerhart) of Akron, Tonya Keener of Akron, Shane (Melissa) Selman of New Franklin, Michael Kennell (Deana Upchurch) of Akron, Michelle Kennell of Akron, Jesse (Sarah) Williams of Arkansas, and Jackie Kukla of Arkansas; son-in-law, David J. Alcorn; 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 12-2 followed by a 2:00 p.m. memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
