Kari Renee Hall

Kari Renee Hall, age 51, of Tallmadge, passed away on February 7, 2025. She was born in Akron, OH, on September 17, 1973, to David and Phyllis. 

After graduating from Tallmadge High School, Kari went on to earn her Bachelor’s and Master's Degrees in Human Development and Social Science from Kent State University. She worked as a Counselor at Townhall II in Kent, OH, for many years before her health began to decline. 

Kari was passionate about counseling others through difficulties, since she had experienced many herself. Even though she was in a wheelchair from a young age, Kari made the most of life by finding things that she was able to do with family and friends. She enjoyed playing board games and cards, watching movies, caring for her cat and bunnies, and adding to her elephant collectibles. Kari and her fiancé, Jim, loved to take "walks” through the parks together. 

Kari is survived by her loving mother, Phyllis Hall Kent; fiancé, Jim Lease; sister, Kelly (Mark) Stirewalt; nephew, Caleb Stirewalt; niece, Lydia Stirewalt; uncle and aunt, Chuck and Janet Howard; cousins, Brandie and Sophia Patterson; Luke and Harper France; Lori, Scott, Zander, and Zach Rogers; as well as many other family and friends. 

In addition to her father, David Keith Hall, Kari joins her niece, Carolyn Stirewalt, and stepfather, John H. Kent, Sr., in heaven as they now walk together with their Savior. 

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305) on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 1:30pm until 3:00pm. Her Memorial Service will immediately follow the visitation.
