Karl Everett Mace, 92, of Pulaski, TN, (Giles County) formerly of Akron, OH and San Juan, TX passed away on Feb. 7, 2022, at his home.
Mr. Mace was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Barberton, Ohio, to Rufe A. and Maude L. (Starcher) Mace. He was a life resident of the Akron, Barberton, Norton, Ohio area until retiring in 1989 from PPG Industries Chemical Division as a Dept. Supervisor with 36 years service. He was a graduate of Norton High School, attended Kent State and Wittenberg Universities and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving over 6 years during the Korean, Cold War and Mideast Crisis, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He was preceded in death by former first wife Norma (Stone); wife Clara (Clay-DeVenture) infant daughter; parents; seven brothers, Howard, Cecil, Russell, Paul, Elden, Eugene and Jon; beloved sister, Daisy Ilg.
He is survived by children Della Deventuri; Daniel (Melinda) DeVenture, Donald (Debbi) DeVenture; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pulaski, TN. Life member of the American Motorcycle Association, The American Legion, The Air Force Communicators and Air Traffic Controllers, Experimental Aircraft Assn. Chapter 846, Canton (OH) Motorcycle Club, Giles County, TN Veterans Alliance. He served as president of the Wadsworth Airmen's Assn, was an Ohio State Director of the BMW Riders Assn. Christian Motorcyclist Assn. He was an avid pilot and motorcyclist.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio) where funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm with Pastor Joel Cochran officiating.
Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
