Karla Roberts-Wilt
Karla Roberts-Wilt, 41, passed away July 14, 2011 surrounded by her loving family and friends after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Karla was employed at Akron Children's Hospital as a unit secretary in the PICU. She loved spending time with her family, and taking trips to the casino. She also loved her animals, especially her chickens. Karla enjoyed vacationing with her family by going on cruises. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Richard Wilt; daughter, Cassandra Wilt; son, Hunter Wilt; mother, Pamela (Duane) Yerkey; father, Douglas (Doris) Roberts; twin sister, Diane (Scott) Sprankle; sister, Dena Roberts; brothers, Dr. Timothy Miller, Scott (Heather) Miller, Michael (Jessica) Roberts, Loren (Leeanne) Yerkey, Lester (DeLynn) Yerkey, and Matthew Cannon; grandmother, Reca O'Donnell; uncle, Robert (Patty) O'Donnell; father and mother in-law, David and Rita Everson; many nieces and nephews; and best friend, Shelly Markovanich. The family would like to thank Dr. Rehmus and her staff, and the VNS Hospice Care Center for their loving care of Karla. Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 17, from 1 to 5 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will be held Monday, July 18, at 11 am with Chaplain Karen Ballard officiating. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNS Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, 44333 in Karla's name.
