Karol K. Lenkey, age 71 of Akron, Ohio, died on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 2:23 Am at her home.
She was born on June 13, 1946 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Dwayne Arthur and Berry Jane (nee Kelley) Hawkins.
Karol graduated from Alliance High School and also from Aultman Hospital Nursing School. She was a Registered Nurse and worked there for 13 years. She then went on to work at Akron General Hospital and went to work at Traditions Nursing Home in Bath, Ohio.
She enjoyed sewing, puzzles, vacations, and dining out.
Karol is survived by her husband, Terrance W. Lenkey, "Terry", whom she married on October 30, 1982; her two step-children, William Howard Lenkey and Patricia Grimsley; three grandchildren; her sister, Kathy (Gary) Shreve; her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Stokes; and her brother-in-law, Curtis (Bonnie) Lenkey.
Other than her parents, Karol was preceded in death by her father-in-law, William Lenkey.
Burial will be private in Greenlawn Cemetery in Uniontown. There will be an immediate family only memorial service at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home-Akron.
