Kate Hill-Breiding

Kate Hill, 94, of Akron, passed away September 1, 2016. Kate was born in Akron, Ohio on June 20, 1922 to the late William and Ora Breiding. She retired from Cardinal Plastics after 20 years of service and then opened Brihills Ceramics with her brother, Donnie. She loved arts and crafts, sewing and baking.

In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard; brothers, Fred, Woody, Tom, and Sam Breiding; and sisters, Ceal Sauers and Gerry Tucker.

She is survived by daughter, Judy (Chuck) Simone; son, Richard E. Hill; sister, Ange Horning; brothers, Phil, Don (Eloise) and Marvin (Willene) Breiding; grandchildren, Christie (Chuck) Kresge, Troy (Mary) Simone, Tracy (Bob) King, Stephanie Shundry, Brian (Rebecca) Simone; great-grandchildren, Zach, Nicolette, Blake, Alex, Cameron, Dominic, Max, and Jake.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Summa Palliative Care and also Summa at Home Hospice Care.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 5-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 10 am at Visitation of Mary Parish, 87 Broad St., Akron, OH 44305. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
