Katherine "Kaye" Spade

Katherine "Kaye" Spade, 86, joined her husband John James "Jack" Spade in heaven on April 20, 2007. She was born on February 6, 1921 in Fayette, Missouri to the late Russell E. and Mabel Page Silvey. Kaye enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and all the gifts of nature. Her gifted hands embroidered many beautiful treasures. Kaye was a warm, caring, and compassionate person who always made people feel welcome. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack of 58 years; infant son Jonathan; sister Dorothey Kaluzne; and brothers Kenneth and William Silvey. Survivors include her step-son Terry Bowman of Murphysboro, Illinois; son John Spade, Jr. of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; daughters Joyce Spade of Akron and Jill Spade of Lawndale, CA; brothers Joseph, Robert, Ewell, Buddy, and Jack; sisters Deloris, Barbara Jean, and Paula; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow her all the days of her life and she shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral service Thursday, 1 p.m. at the funeral home, Rev. Sam Martin officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
