Kathi Lynn Lowery, "Kooz", age 59, of Akron, Ohio, died unexpectedly on June 23, 2020 at her home.
She was born on January 23, 1961 in Akron, the daughter of the late James and Joann (nee Kiefer) Hillegas.
Kathi has been employed with Summa Health Akron City Hospital for 29 1/2 years. Kathi was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and loved going to the games. She enjoyed traveling to the beach, her five precious cats, cross stitching and yard work. Her greatest joy was spending time with her siblings and their families.
Other than her parents, Kathi was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Lowery on March 25, 2020, they were united in marriage on May 27, 2000; and her father-in-law, Lawrence Lowery.
Survivors include her siblings, Kevin (Pauline) Hillegas, Karen (Jeffrey) Sturm and Kelleen "Kelli" Fischer and several nieces and nephews. Her mother-in-law is also surviving, Shirley (nee Dawson) Lowery.
Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Monday, June 29, 2020, we do ask that everyone ADHERE TO SOCIAL DISTANCING.
Private graveside services will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park, where Kathi will be laid to rest with her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County, 7996 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.
