Kathleen C. "Kate" Powell
The love of my life, Kathleen C." Kate" Powell, passed away on June 2, 2010, at age 58. We recently celebrated our 40th anniversary, and she will be terribly and forever missed. A graduate of Stow High School class of 1970 and lifelong resident of Stow and Cuyahoga Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Carolyn Cook, of Stow. She is survived by her husband, Lennis "Terry" Powell; son, Jody L. (Wendy); daughter, Angela (Charles) Medsker; brother, Gerald Cook, Jr. (Lynn); sister, Margaret (Mark) Beck; her five "grandbabies", Haley, Dylan, Nicholas, Katrina, and Devon; special friend Catherine "Terri" Kandel; along with her special Tiffany, who gave her special joy that helped her through many years of enduring pain. She cherished them all, along with a host of loving relatives and friends, both near and far. Dr. Gary Williams and the palliative team at Summa have earned my unending gratitude, along with a host of Drs. and staff for making her final days comfortable. A memorial celebration of her life will be held Saturday, 4 p.m. at Kent Church of the Nazarene, 1972 Summit St., Kent, OH 44240. Inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for the grandchildren's educational fund.
