Kathleen Lowrey, 55, of Akron, passed away June 4, 2008 after a long illness that she fought hard. She was born March 19, 1953 in Akron, OH. Kathleen was a long-time member of the Akron Turner Club and enjoyed her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Newberry; husband , Robert Lowrey, Sr.; and son, Micheal Shane. Kathleen is survived by her mother, Jean Newberry; daughter, Charity Shane; son, Carl Knafel; stepdaughter , Jeana Malcolm; stepson, Bobby Lowrey, Jr.; sister, Carol Ellinger (Larry); brother, Mitch Newberry (Kristi); sister Sandy Griner (John); uncle, Ray Newberry (Beth); aunts, Jan O'Neal, Evelyn Grady, Mildred Milan; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; many cousins and friends. Calling hours will be Saturday, June 7, 10-11 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with a funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m. Interment at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens in Canton.
