Kathleen M. Evans
Kathleen M. Evans, 67, went home to be with the Lord on January 12, 2011. She was born in Akron, but lived in Florida for many years. She returned to Akron in 2004. Kathleen was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 8487. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Lenora Merritt; sister, Denelda Stover; and daughter, Rhonda Kay. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert E. Lee Evans; son, Robert; grandchildren, William and Katy Sue; great-grandson, Christian; step-children, Mary (Larry) Gerhart, James (Karen) Evans, Janet (Edward) Regec, and Bob (Allison) Evans; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Murliah Hill; brother-in-law, Larry Stover; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Monday, January 17, from 5 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will be held Tuesday, January 18, at 11 am with Pastor John Beers officiating. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
