Kathryn M. Wharton
Kathryn M. Wharton, 82, went home to be with the Lord on February 29, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Kathryn devoted her life to the love and care of her family, and will be forever remembered and adored by them. She greatly enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, and also enjoyed doing crafts and home hobbies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis Hembree; daughters, Linda and Sharon; sons, John and Don; and mother, Catherine Ellis. Kathryn is survived by her children, Sue (Larry) Whisman, Jeff Hembree, and David (Marlene) Hembree; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Ruth Morris; and many loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 3, from 5 to 7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow at 7 pm with Pastor Robert Kuhns officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
