Kay Ann (nee Spence) Powell, went home to be with the Lord, on May 25, 2021, unexpectedly.
She was born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania on January 10, 1946 to Robert Alexander Spence and Mary Kathryn (nee Mellott) Spence.
Her family moved to the Akron area while Kay was in elementary school. She met the love of her life, James Powell, while attending Springfield High School. They graduated together in 1963 from SHS and married in 1965. On June 19th, they would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Kay loved church, traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, James A Powell; her daughters, Michelle Eckert (Dave) and Dawn (Pat) Presley; and her two grandchildren, Kayla Presley and Eli Eckert. She is also survived by her siblings, Bob (Pam) Spence and Lela (Allen) Kruse and many nieces and nephews. She loved her family dearly, but her grandchildren were the absolute apple of her eye. Kay was very active in her church and will be deeply missed by her church family and many friends.
Family and friends may visit at the Hartville Church of the Brethren, 353 Cresmont Avenue, Hartville, Ohio 44632 on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, where the funeral service will follow Noon.
Following the funeral service, we will process to Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron for the Burial.
