Kay Voorheis

May 28, 1951 — November 13, 2024

Mogadore

Kay Voorheis (nee Leasure) went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2024 with her family by her side.

Kay was born on May 28, 1951 in Caldwell, OH. She was a proud graduate of Tallmadge High School class of 1969. Kay started working in the admitting department of Green Cross hospital upon graduation. She spent most of her career in banking. She stood as a beacon of light in the rough and tumble world of banking. She helped numerous people succeed , and lifted up many heavy hearts. She was fierce and loyal to her customers, always choosing what was best for the customer over bank profit. Countless friends and family were helped by her love of people and always had a helping hand outstretched. Kay loved her family and friends; she enjoyed spending time with them with her mischievous fun natured personality was infectious. Kay resided most of her life in Mogadore. She was deeply involved in the community, always there to support Mogadore Wildcats and any of the village's needs.

Kay is reunited in heaven with her soulmate Bob Tipton, infant son, parents Vernon and Catherine Leasure (nee Forshey), her beloved niece Caitlin Leasure, brother Roger Leasure, and Father-in-law and Mother-in-law William and Elizabeth Voorheis (nee Demonde).

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (John) of Mogadore, Granddaughter Ariannah (Zack) Pierce of Mogadore, Great Grandchildren Izabella, Zander and Celeste Pierce of Mogadore , Her brother Rodney (Valerie) of Flower Mound TX, Her brother Joseph (Erin) Leasure of Warren and her sister Linda (Howard) Beatty of Tallmadge. Many nieces and nephews who she affectionately told them they were her favorite and insisted on being their favorite aunt.

We would like to thank the Mogadore Fire department for their assistance. As they were working on her she would tell embarrassing stories about their childhood and Mogadore history. We would also like to thank Summa hospice staff Melissa, Tiffany, and Misty for outstanding care.

Per her wishes Kay will be cremated without a funeral service.
