Kenji Favors, 43 years old, passed away August 21, 2019 with his loving Wife, Demetra at his side. Kenji was born in July of 1976 to Cheryl Patterson and Willie Favors. He was a graduate of Ellet High School and served in the United States Marine Corp.
He was a thoughtful, zealous, loving and energetic person who kept a smile on his face. He was a loving husband to his high school sweetheart Demetra. During their 8 years of marriage he enjoyed traveling and seeing the world with his wife. He found a shine of light in every person and in every situation. Kenji was initially ordained as a Minister at United Baptist Church under Bishop Kenneth Paramore. He continued a life in ministry fighting on the battlefield for the Lord. (G.O.E) God Over Everything was his mission and purpose. He was active in his community as Pastor of Christ Centered Church where he enjoyed serving, caring for and being with people. He loved on people and he never met a stranger. To know him was to love him. His bigger than life personality will be missed by all. He was full of life and very intentional in expressing his love to all who knew him. His light will continue to shine through all that he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife, Demetra Favors; parents, Cheryl Patterson and Willie Favors; Sisters: Kimberly Bowens (Keith), Krista Favors-Portis (Timothy), Jacque Brooks, Terri Gibson, Renee Moore-Gibson and Mercedes Favors; Brothers: Kavan Favors, Peter Favors, Jeffery Fort (Verondia) and Nathaniel Gibson; father and mother in-law, Matthew Thomas, Jr., and Jewel Thomas; sisters in-law, Gina Lewis (Willie), Michelle Thomas; Nieces: Kiara, Kaye, Kyniah, Kayla, Charae, Charnise and Malayah; Nephews: Khiry, Jesse, Khalid, Kavan Jr., Kameron, Cartier, Pete Jr., DeAnte' and Zaire; God daughter Charnae Williams (Charles & Family) and a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Kenji will forever continue to live in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home, with Bishop Marc L. Neal officiating.
