Kenneth G. Coughenour, age 78 of Akron passed away on December 25, 2024. He was born in Ravenna on June 22, 1946, to Charles and Mildred Coughenour. In his earlier years he enjoyed riding motorcycles and going camping and fishing. He enjoyed being a cook at Windsor. Ken won chef cook off awards in downtown Akron for Windsor several times. He also received an award for his services to feeding the homeless. He was loved and will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife Vicki Coughenour; his siblings Florence Brown, and David (Nancy) Coughenour; his cousin Barbara Saldian; his children Starla, Jason, Mark, Meridith (Johnny), and James (Nichole); grandchildren Brittany(Antonio), Andrea, Tamia (Nasir), Johnny Jr., Jonathan, Mason, Nicholas, and Hailey; great-grandchildren Kaiyan, and My'Luna; nephews Mark, and Joshua.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister-in-law Kimberly Pugh.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home.
