Kenneth R. Harmel

Kenneth R. Harmel, "Ken", age 71 of Akron, Ohio, died on October 10, 2017 at 1:30 AM at Akron City Hospital following a battle with cancer.
He was born in Akron on August 21, 1946, the son of the late Fred and Lillian Miller Harmel.
Ken was a retired chopper at Lancers Dispersions after 10 years of service. Ken had a huge heart and would go without just to make sure someone else had. Ken loved to fish, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Tina M. (Jack Dalrymple) Harmel, Eric L. Harmel, and Christy (Nathaniel) Coffe all of Akron; several grandchildren including Tiffany, Christopher, and Shain Harmel; and many great-grandchildren. His two sisters also survive, Gloria Stone of Los Angeles, CA and Delores Eggert of Uniontown.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Francel Parker will celebrate Ken's life.
