Kenneth P. Harris, Sr.

Kenneth P. Harris, Sr., 85, went Home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2020. Born in Lakemore, Ohio he was a lifelong Akron area resident. Ken was a tire builder for B. F. Goodrich and later worked for AMHA, Sam's Club/ASW and Edwin Shaw Hospital. He was a longtime member of Canton Road Baptist Church/Community Baptist Temple, where he served as a Trustee, taught Sunday School, song leader for the congregation and was a church bus driver. Ken also volunteered at Challenge Golf Course. Ken enjoyed family gatherings, hunting, fishing, any competitive sport, but his true passion was golf and fellowship with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by siblings, Gwen, Dorothy, Grace, Roger, Blanche, Marcia, he will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Jeanette; children, Kenny (Patti), Cindi (Dean) Chinrock, Keith (Meshelle), Julie (Tony) Barbuto; grandchildren, Ken, Kara (Tom), Kevin (Valerie), Ashley, Ryan, Savannah, Shelby, Madison, Molly, Alyssa, Nicolas, Brady; great grandchildren, Zoe, Andrew, Parker; siblings, Russell, Jean, Barbara, Maxwell, Bunny, Judy; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, September 11, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at Community Baptist Temple, 1435 Kelly Ave, Akron. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark O'Donnell officiating. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Ken's name to Community Baptist Temple.
