Kenneth F. Herchenroeder, 85, of Akron, passed away at home on November 24, 2018. He was born on June 3, 1933 in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1951. Over the years, Ken worked as a truck driver and a nursing home administrator. Upon retirement, he delivered for Mobile Meals. He enjoyed going to the casino, going out to eat, and watching his favorite teams, the Indians, Ohio State, and the Browns. He was a member of St. John/St. Paul Lutheran Church and most recently, Faith Lutheran Church. He also belonged to the Oddfellow Lodge #450
Ken is preceded in death by his mother, Ada Herchenroeder; his father, George and step-mother, Vera; son, John McClaskey; daughter-in-law, Jenny McClaskey; and brothers, George and Walt Herchenroeder.
Ken is survived by his wife Susan Herchenroeder; children, David (Georgeann), Mike (Sherri), Tim, Jeff (Cheryl), Jim (Dawn), and Scott Herchenroeder, Laurie (Mark) Kyser, Terry and David McClaskey, Amy (Billy) Sutherland; 29 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and his little buddy, Coco.

Visitation will take place on Friday November 30, 2018 at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, from 6pm until 8pm. A funeral service will take place on Saturday December 1, 2018 at the funeral home at 10am. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery.
