Kenneth James Oliver, 76, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital after a long illness. He was born June 14, 1925 to the late Ford A. and Harriett Oliver. Mr. Oliver was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was an usher for several years. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II as a cook and worked for F.W. Albrecht Grocery Co. for many years as a Meat Manager at the Hudson Acme. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen (Bonnie); daughter, Connie and husband James Woods of Cuyahoga Falls; son, Kenneth and wife Susan, of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Jim, Erik, and Jenny; sister, Doris Hutchins of Cuyahoga Falls. The family would like to give thanks to Ritamae Woods, a special friend and personal nurse. Friends and family may call on Thursday, November 15th from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 704 N. Firestone Blvd., with Rev. Phil Hulgin and Rev. Willie Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven of Rest Rescue Mission, 175 E. Market St., Akron, 44308.
