Kimberly Evans

On Thursday March 6, 2025, Kimberly Evans, of Brimfield, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends.

She leaves behind her sister, Candene; brother, Renot; and her three children, William, Barbara and Steve; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Meranda, Josh, Tanner, and Trevor; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Theo, and Jacob. She also leaves behind other family members, Keith, Betty, Kenny, Dawn, Amanda, Kristine, and many others; her friends, Shirley, Kim, Linda, Nancy, Dolores, Donna and Frank.

Kim was born June 1943 in Akron. She raised her three children in Brimfield, where she lived for almost 50 years.

In the 70’s, she worked for the APL of Ravenna. She often brought home strays giving them a second chance and rehomed them. Never a dull moment when you were with Kim. In the 80’s, she spent her time selling Avon in Brimfield - giving away more than she ever made. She also bred and raised show dogs – the Shitzu was her favorite. Giving so many families the opportunity to own a beautiful puppy. Many people wanted and got more than one and some came back years later after theirs had passed away trying to get another one – and mom always tried to do so.

Kim also loved children. She found joy working as a nanny in the Brimfield, Kent, and Tallmadge area. She worked for several different families for over 20 years watching the children grow up to school age until she retired.

Mom had a big personality and she loved to talk and tell stories to anyone who listened. Thank goodness we didn’t have cell phones in the 70’s and 80’s. Her mind never stopped working even in her 80’s she had so many ideas and plans always looking for things to do and places to go. She was also an artist and could draw almost anything.

Kim loved horses her whole life and she enjoyed going to the barn or fair to see and smell them. She always looked forward to decorating her scooter for the Brimfield Veterans Parade. Even almost blind, she was still able to ride her scooter alongside her family and her mini me granddaughter on her beautiful horse to lead the group. She loved riding that scooter around Brimfield Lake, occasionally riding on the wrong side of the road. One of her favorite things to do was going for a ride with her son in their convertible and going to Winks car shows.

She was a big part of her family’s everyday life and will always be loved, remembered, and missed.

There will be no funeral. A graveside memorial will take place at a later time with her family and friends.
