Kimberly Dawn Wahl (Nee: Elkins), age 59, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on November 10, 2024 with her family by her side, after a short and courageous battle with lung cancer.
Kim was born December 4, 1964 in Akron, Ohio. She was a 1983 graduate of Green High School and attended Portage Lakes Career Center where she studied data processing. In her earlier years, Kim worked at BK, Arby’s, and then started her adult career at Barberton Hospital in the billing department. Kim has been a member of The American Legion Post 566 (Auxiliary) for over 30 years where she worked and then became the Canteen Manager. Kim was a Member of The American Legion Riders, and The Portage Lakes Eagles 2736, and was a loyal volunteer. Kim was an avid OSU and Miami Dolphins fan. Kim enjoyed gardening, shopping, spending time with family and friends, getting her nails done, and visiting the beach. Kim was a profoundly compassionate, loving, and strong woman who deeply loved her family and enjoyed life.
Kim is now reunited in Heaven with her brother Rick Elkins, father-in-law Chuck Wahl, nieces Whitney and Melanie Elkins, aunt Denise, grandparents Bulgrin, Cope, and Elkins, and two unborn babies. Kim has blessed the lives of and is survived by her loving husband of 29 years Jack Wahl, son Andrew Kennedy, mother Georgia Cope (John), father Don (Pat) Elkins, mother-in-law Shirley Wahl, brother Scot (Gina) Elkins, sisters Rhonda (Rusty) Chapman and Teri Elkins, step brothers Dave (Ronda) Adams and Mike (Michelle) Adams, sister-in-law Marlene Thornton, special friends Cindy Strickland (“BFF”), Cindy Beck (“Cindy Lou”), Jenny Robinson, and Cheri Hinkle, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and their families.
