Kurt James Augsburger, age 53 of Kenmore passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at his home. He was born in Akron on December 9, 1967, a son of the late Jack Augsburger and Barbara (Jim) {Saffels} Sumey.
In addition to his parents, Kurt was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Jennie Augsburger, grandparents John (Maddie) Saffels and Wade (Ruth) Augsburger, aunt Dorothy Bean, step-sister Debbie Hunsicker, step-brother Tim Sumey.
Kurt's memory will always be cherished by his daughter Lauren (Aaron) Donze; brothers Wade and Eric Augsburger; niece Nicole Alexiadis and her sons Alex and Vinnie; step-brothers Pat (Nancy) Sumey, Chris (Robin) Sumey and Mark Sumey; step-sisters Susie (Paul) Hennigin and Bonnie (Gus) Hoover; step-nieces and -nephews David and Donovan Powell, Bruce Hunsicker, Denise, Patrick (Jen) Sumey, Tiffany (Charlie) Bounce, Lisa and Kim; cousins David and Valerie; many friends, including Tom from Ferry Industries.
Kurt won vocational awards in high school, on the state level, for his talents in welding. That gift later led to a decades-long career, first with S&B Sheet Metal, and then with Ferry Industries until his retirement. Kurt met many friends from America and Canada through his love of drag racing, including Uncle Mike, Joe Crites, Chuck and Kat, and Barry. His lifelong best friend Greg McClung, who was like a third older brother to him, that he met through Wade and Eric, was a great blessing in his life. Kurt had a love for animals, especially his beloved dog, Nitro.
Kurt's family would like to extend their gratitude to Gloria from Summa Hospice for her compassionate care in Kurt's final weeks.
