L. Marie "Sister" Dean, age 92, resident of Akron, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012. She was born on April 30, 1920 in North Carolina to James and Bessie Warters. Marie formerly volunteered with the Akron Food Bank and retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co.
Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Louise Nicholas and Evelyn Collins; brothers, Elbert Warters and James Warters. Survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 2580 Romig Road, Akron, OH 44320. Arrangments are being handled by NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the excellent care Marie received from the staff at Copley Health Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
