LaJean J. Claypoole

LaJean J. Claypoole, 82, went home to be with her Lord on January 30, 2008. She was born in Kittanning, PA on March 20, 1925 to the late Walter and Elsie Jordan. LaJean worked as a receptionist at BB and T and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sanford, NC. She enjoyed growing and arranging flowers, cooking, sewing, crocheting, and helping others. LaJean knew many people and always enjoyed talking with them. She also had been a co-anchor on Burke Buchanan's Christian TV station. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband E. Lloyd Claypoole. She is survived by daughters Larelle (David) Whetsell and Loreen (Stacy) Walser; sister Carolyn (Jack) Newkirk; grandchildren Valerie Whetsell, Duane (Sally) Whetsell, Julia (Jeff) Miller, Remmy (Hiroshi) Sakai, Laura (Ray) Taylor, Stacy (Kim) Walser, Julie McCasland, Mark (Tammy) Walser, and Matthew Walser; great-grandchildren Kaylee, Kristen, Marissa, Michelle, Nicole, Bradley, Tara, Jordan, Houston, Tripp, Ryan, Sara, Wyatt, Stephen(Katie), Matthew, Alisha, Stephanie; and great-great-grandson Noah. Calling hours will be TODAY, 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Interment will take place at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Pennsylvania.
