Larry H Allshouse

May 27, 1938 — December 22, 2021

Larry H Allshouse passed away after a short battle with cancer on December 22, 2021 at the age of 83.

Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Betty, his wife Laura, brothers Terry and Jerry and sister Fran.

He is survived by Ronald, Elizabeth and her children Miguel, TJ, Stephen and Madilynn and by Jerry, his wife Toni and their children Mason and Alex.

Larry was born to Charles and Betty Allshouse on May 27, 1938. Larry and his siblings Jerry, Terry, Brenda, Annie and Fran were raised in Akron, OH.

After high school Larry joined the US Military and served 4 years with the US Army.

Larry met and married the love of his life Laura in the early 1960's. They went on to have two sons Jerry and Ronald and an unofficial adopted daughter Elizabeth.

I'm his early years Larry worked for Bell Music company. He later joined Teamsters local union and worked for Akron Standard before retiring from Northern Haserot.

Larry attended Mount Summit Church and was a member of Glendale Baptist Church.

Larry loved working on cars in his spare time and quickly became the unofficial mechanic for his family and friends. He collected display cars and other antiques that caught his attention.

Larry was the guy who everyone knew they could count on. He didn't have much to give in the way of worldly possessions. Yet, he left behind a treasure more valuable than any goods. With the shake of his hand and the look in his eye his words stood for something. His wisdom didn't come from a text book or Google, it came from experience and love. He taught us to stand for what you believe in even if it's the unpopular choice. Keep your word and promises. Follow your heart. Be thoughtful with your mind, actions and words. Love without restrictions or conditions. If you can help someone help without expecting anything in return.

Larry was a "Giver". He believed in giving out of love, not obligation. To give when it's least expected. Give without strings attached. Give from your heart. Give of yourself. Give to show you care. Give without causing helplessness. At least once in your lifetime to give something that takes personal sacrifice. Give to make a difference. Give without keeping score. Give for no reason at all. Give a little if you can't give a lot. Give without attracting attention to yourself. Give without being asked. Give of your experience. Give to those who's heart needs a miracle the most. Give to create a smile. Give to children to show them there is good in this world. And give because it's the right thing to do. So, with that in mind his family asks that everyone "give" in Larry's memory. Give a donation of your time or money to anyone or any organization it doesn't matter who. Just give out of love and in memory of Larry because that's what Larry would have done.
