Larry Anthony Niutta, 83, passed away December 11, 2013 at Hospice Care Center in Copley, Ohio. He was born May 24, 1930 in Youngstown to the late Frank and Theresa (DeGenaro) Niutta. Larry served in the U.S. Marine Corps, worked his earlier years at the Akron Jewelers Supply and retired from F.W. Albrecht Grocery Co. Following his retirement, Larry worked for VanDevere Oldsmobile where he served as a courtesy driver. He enjoyed attending his parish, celebrating his faith and cooking family meals.
He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 55 years Audrey (O'Boyski) Niutta. Larry is survived by his son Larry Niutta of Tallmadge, OH, sister Rosemary (Sandy) Rossi of Sharon, PA, brother-in-law Andy O'Boyski, niece Tina (Jim) Trenga, nephew Victor (Kathy) Rossi, great-nieces Julia Trenga and Lauren Rossi and great-nephew Christopher Rossi. Special thanks to close friends Sharon and Dan Malumphy, to all caregivers at Akron General Medical Center, Falls Village, Concordia at Sumner, Hospice Care Center and to all other family, neighbors and friends who have touched my father's life for their comfort, support, prayers and words of encouragement. Most of all, thank God for providing a caring and loving father who has given me more than he has received. Thanks, again, Dad for 'putting up' with me over the years. You will be missed and loved. Be sure to tell Mom she is missed and loved also.
Friends and family may call 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44303. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2013 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave, Akron, OH 44308 with visitation prior to Mass from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Final resting place will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the above mentioned facilities who cared for Larry.
