Larry R. Augustine, 74, of Ellet, left us peacefully on June 22, 2021 to join his beloved Donna in Heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents, James J. Augustine and Frances "Jerry" Green (Lundy); stepfather, Jerry Green; wife of 40 years, Donna J Augustine (Mazzei); brother, James E. Augustine. He is survived by sisters, Linda Pursley and Lori (Gary) Knight; sons, James P. and Richard T. Augustine; daughter, "Baby Girl" Dani (Bobby) Rardon; grandsons, Gavin M. Cross and Ashton J. Rardon; many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Larry was born in Barberton on February 26, 1947 and attended Coventry High School. After graduation he enlisted in the Army and proudly served his country at home and abroad until he was honorably discharged. He then began a 40-plus year career in tire building starting at Firestone, then Seiberling, and finally Denman Tire, where he retired in 2008. It was during his time at Firestone that he met the love of his life, Donna Jean, at Luigi's restaurant where she worked. They were married in 1969, moved to Ellet and started a family. Larry was not only a father to his children but a father figure to many of his kids' friends and neighborhood kids. He was funny, smart, logical and loving. He worked very hard to take care of his family. He loved his hometown teams (Browns, Indians, Cavs and Buckeyes) and cheered them on every chance he got. He loved golfing and going on vacations with his wife and their best friends, Marie Keith and Jerry Pinto.
Larry is loved so much and will be missed dearly.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will have a Celebration of Larry's Life at a later date.
