Larry Dean Carr

Larry Dean Carr, age 61 of Akron, Ohio, died on August 26, 2023.

He was born on November 21, 1961 in Akron, the son of the late Vallee Dean and Hettie Elizabeth (nee Gibson) Carr.

Larry was a member of Civitan Club and Wolf Ledges AC. He liked muscle cars and collected model muscle cars. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, he attended many games over the years. He was named "the gentleman" by several family members, he was always very respectful and just an all around "teddy bear". He was a fun loving and outgoing individual. In his younger years he was a boy scout.

Survivors include his siblings, Deborah (Stephen) Brubaker of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Terry (Theresa) Carr of Akron; his nieces and nephews, Brittany (Jeremy) Herron, Darin (Brittany Berger) Carr, Joshua (Rachel) Brubaker, Stephen Patrick Brubaker, Terrance (fiancee, Mallory Davis) Brubaker and Heather Simmons; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Abel, Noah, Chloe, Emma, Xavier, Xyairiah, Kylynn and Elizabeth "Lizzie".

Other than his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Darin Carr; his niece, Deborah Elizabeth "Beth" Sears; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305 on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 6:00 PM, where Pastor Tony White will celebrate Larry's life.

Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.
