Larry C. Duca, 76, passed away unexpectedly, November 14, 2023 at home. Born in Flint, Michigan to Charles and Geraldine (Ureche) Duca, he resided in the Akron, Ohio area all of his adult life.
Larry was a proud U.S. Army Veteran where he served in Vietnam and received a Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars, Combat Infantryman Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal and was a Second Class Gunner (M-60) and a Marksman (Rifle).
Larry worked at Halls Courier as a truck driver until his retirement.
Larry was a very sociable person who enjoyed meeting new people, sitting out front of the house watching the neighborhood children play with his two English Bulldogs Tank and Lulu, telling stories, classic cars, decorating the house for Christmas, camping Pre-1840 at The Great Trails Festival in Malvern, OH, and most importantly, spending time with his wife Linda who was his everything and family.
Larry and Linda were always thinking of new ways to decorate the house for Christmas. Every tree in the house decorated with a different theme, like upside down, hanging from the ceilings, Star Wars, family, masquerade, cars, candy, homemade ornaments and more. They took pride in decorating for Christmas.
Larry always made it a point to tell his grandchildren how proud he was of the young men and woman they have become from their grades at school, work, or any other accomplishment they made. He never missed a game where his granddaughter was cheering, if she was on the field, he was in the stands. When his grandchildren asked him "to come over" or "if they could go over", he would just say "On our way" or "Come on over". Never missed a beat when it came to his grandchildren "Those Rotten Rugrats".
In addition to his parents Larry was preceded in death by Father-in-law Joseph Prekop, Mother-in-law Betty (Imhoff) Prekop, Sister-in-law Kimberly (Prekop) Skidmore, Brother-in-law Edwin Skidmore, Sister-in-law Rebecca (Prekop) Shilinski, Sister Rochelle "Sue" (Duca) Godlewski, Sister Connie Jo (Duca) Cantor, and his English Bulldog Tank.
