Larry D. Harris
Larry D. Harris, 68, of Springfield Twp., passed away July 3, 2007 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Larry was born in Akron on August 23, 1938. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1956. Larry proudly served as an Akron firefighter for 17 years and a Springfield firefighter for 29 years. He also was an Akron schoolbus driver for 30 years. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Margaret; son, Steve; and three brothers, Eugene, Bud, and Harry. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy; children, Larry (Shelley) Harris, Shari Harris, and Mark (Debby) Harris; daughter-in-law, Kelly Harris; nephew, Harry (Amy) Harris; nieces, Sandie West and Lori Harris; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 12 p.m. with visitation from 10-12 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
