Larry J. Slider "Joe", 59, of Green, passed away December 19, 2007 at his residence. He was born August 11, 1948 in Parkersburg, Virginia. Larry served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the V.F.W. of Cuyahoga Falls. In his free time, he loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his brother, "JR" Bernard Veon Slider, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Wolfe) Slider; son, Austin Slider (Samantha); daughter, Nicole Slider; mother and step-father, Mary Sines and Herb Rehfus; father and step-mother, Bernard & Lois Slider, Sr.; brothers, Darrell Slider (Cindy), Donnie Slider (Suki) and Kenny Slider (Judy); sister, Doris Slider; sister-in-law, Carol Slider; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry & Brenda Oliver. Calling hours will be Saturday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Shaub officiating. Interment will take place Monday, Dec. 24 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. The family would like to extend their thanks to Ohio Gaskets & Shims for all of their generosity and support as well as to Hospice of Summa.
