Larry Glen Jones, 73, passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2020. Born in Akron, OH to the late McClure B. Jones and Evelyn M. (Stiles) Jones. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Randy and Roger; brothers-in-law, Wayne Roberts and Paul Roberts; and countless friends. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Bonnie (Roberts) Jones; his only daughter, Laura (Jones) Sloat (Chris Atchley); grandsons, Jacob Lee and Lucas Glen Sloat; his sister, Donna Siebert (Mel); sisters-in-law, Patsy Head (James), Debbie Wilson, Paula Morris (Mike) and Gina Goldinger (Steve); brothers-in-law, Leonard Roberts (Laura) and Matt Roberts; and many nephews, nieces and countless friends.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman and professional fisherman who competed all over the US. He also enjoyed deer hunting and was a recipient of the Ohio Boone and Crockett Award for a trophy deer. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1965 and retired in 2009, enjoying his retirement to the fullest at his family's home place.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Larry's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Haven of Rest Ministries in Akron in Larry's name.
