LARRY DALE ROBINSON

Larry Dale Robinson age 70, of Akron, passed away January 9, 2002, at his home in Mogadore, with his family at his bedside. Born July 17, 1931, in Akron, he was a life resident of Akron. Larry was owner/proprietor of Buchtel Lanes and Roll-A-Way Lanes in Akron, Bonita Lanes in Bonita Springs Fla. followed by Diamond Billiards of Akron when he retired in 1999. At the age of 14, he helped purchase 400 acres on Devil Lake, Ontario, Canada, which has since become known as "Robinson Retreat" and his summer home. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling and playing straight pool. He proudly served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Larry was a past officer of the Bowling Proprietors Association of America, Billiards Congress of America, Lakemore Methodist Church, American Legion Post 209, Portage Lake Masonic Lodge, and Mogadore Moose Lodge. Larry had many loves; spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, playing pool, hunting, fishing, and teaching billiards while instilling high morals and values to all those around him. Larry is preceded in death by his first wife; Sally (Meinhart), father; Richard
Raymond Robinson, and step-son; Kevin Sewell. He is survived by his loving wife; Carole, son; Daniel (Kathi) of New Castle, Ind., daughters; DeDe (Craig) Gilbride, Jill (Mike) Lucey of Mogadore, and Deborah (Dave) Heffelfinger, of Wadsworth, mother; Eleanor, sister; Lynn (Ed) Rodkey, grandchildren; Mike, Nicole (Brian), Melissa, Jim (Mollie), Kelly (Brian), Anna, Danny, Kristen, Jon, Dale, Sean, Noah, Richie, Tommy, and Katie, great-grandson; Christian.
Family and friends will be recieved from 4-9 p.m. Friday January 11, at the NEWCOMER-FARLEY Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Road. Memorial Services will be held at Lakemore United Methodist Church, 1536 Flickinger Road, Saturday, January 12, at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. David Atkinson. Special thanks to Dr. Joseph Koenig, Dr. Angela DeJulius and Hospice of Summa.The family suggests memorial contributions may be sent to; Lakemore United Methodist Church, or Hospice of Summa 525 E. Market St. Akron, Oh. 44398.
