Laura Ann Hartley, 71, of Akron, passed away on April 29, 2024. A lifelong resident of Akron, Laura was born on February 27, 1953 to the late George A. Thomas and Shirley {Foss} Mayreis.
In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband Richard "Tom" Hartley, brother Timothy Thomas and brother-in-law Terry Lehman.
Laura is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa (Neal) Benner; step-children Eric (Stacey), Mike (JoAnn) and Tina Hartley; grandchildren Aaron (Amber) Benner and Jessica Benner; great-grandchildren Avryl, Kallie, Kinsley, Tyson, Adelynn, Blayke, Ethan and Julianna; siblings Rebecca Lehman, Vicki (Doug) Rush and Fred (Sandy) Thomas; dear friend Linda Jones; many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Laura attended Firestone Park Christian Church, and most recently New Horizons. She spent hours alongside her church communities volunteering with the homeless, Akron Children's Hospital and AARP to provide meals, clothing and fellowship to those in need.
Laura was determined, especially when it came to her home renovations. She was often seen on a ladder or with power tools to accomplish her next project.
Laura's compassionate, giving spirit poured into her family as well, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren!

Akron, OH 44305 on Monday, May 6th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. A funeral ceremony will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 7th at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where Laura will be laid to rest with Tom.
